Roy, Utah.  December 8, 2020 — Universal Synaptics announced today that it has partnered with the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM).

AWAM is a purposed and passionate organization focused on championing women’s professional growth and enrichment in the aviation maintenance fields by providing opportunities for sharing information and networking, education, fostering a sense of community, and increasing public awareness of women in the industry.

AWAM also assists the seasoned mechanic to advance in their profession by offering industry specific training courses through scholarships. AWAM is a nonprofit organization and an industry leader in supporting diversity.

Universal Synaptics Corporation is proud to be 20% women in mission critical technical and management roles and is an ardent supporter of diversity within the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields in the aviation and aerospace industry.  AWAM and Universal Synaptics’ alignment is a natural fit as both organizations are focused on resetting performance expectations, solving the most complex diagnostics problems, and driving quantifiable value across the entire aviation and aerospace sector.

“Partnerships with industry leaders is key in expanding our network and bringing women in the industry together while promoting all facets of aviation to the next generation” said Angel Green, AWAM President. “We are excited to be associated with Universal Synaptics and have their support in encouraging women in aviation.”

“Women have historically been underrecognized in aviation, from designing and building aircraft in 1906 to commanding the Space Shuttle.  Women continue to be underrepresented in the needed advancements of aviation maintenance and sustainment, thought leadership, and management” said Ken Anderson, Universal Synaptics President and CEO.  “We are very proud to be associated with AWAM, and incorporate their mission as our mission,” he continued.
