Universal Synaptics was recently featured in 2020 CTMA Magazine Issue #8 in an article entitled Technology Transition for ‘Public Good’ by Dana Ellis, Senior Program Manager for the National Center of Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS).
Mr. Ellis states that “one of the biggest impacts of the CTMA Program delvers is that all initiatives have a focus on contributing to the public good and the ability to transition technology to benefit the general public.” He continues, “some examples of these benefits include the reduced cost of goods, increased quality, job training, mitigation of environmental impacts, and workplace/public safety.”
The article highlights a recent project through CTMA which is delivering public good benefits through Universal Synaptics’ Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System (IFDIS) in collaboration with NSWC Crane. IFDIS technology increases a maintainers ability to truly troubleshoot intermittent faults, which are the main driver of No Fault Found / Can Not Duplicate test results. IFD technology reduces maintenance costs, improves component reliability, and makes any aircraft, vehicle, or train safer for the general public.
