- Stop the Waste
Intermittent Faults / No Fault Found (NFF) unnecessarily wastes $5.5 billion dollars annually and negatively impacts mission readiness for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) - Portable Intermittent Fault Detector (PIFD) Demonstration
- PIFD Test Demonstration of AWTS Cable Sets leverage MIL-STD-38999 Patch Cable
Universal Synaptics Technical Director leverages the power of AutoMap, an on-system application that develops a Test Program Set (TPS) automatically and finds the true as-wired configuration of any Unit Under Test (UUT) with no human errors or assumptions built as parameters of ohmic resistance. Universal Synaptics builds a Patch Cable to attach to any previously procured cable sets or harnesses to be able to run Continuity, Shorts, and Intermittence test on the attached harness(es) and then runs the full suite of tests on the actual UUT. The ability to build a TPS on the spot, coupled with automation for hard faults testing (Continuity and Shorts) and Intermittence testing is second to none. IFD technology allows for root cause repairs through detection and isolation of true faults within LRUs and their corresponding harnesses, and any additional cables sets. This is conducted leveraging the PIFD, a customer existing cable set, and the Universal Synaptics manufactured AWTS Patch Cable. To date, PIFD testing has found intermittent issues in over 90% of conventional test equipment cable sets. These faults in cables sets causes issues with accuracy of test and maintenance data. - Intermittent Fault Detector – Universal Synaptics & Lockheed Martin Partner to Solve DoD No Fault Found Anomaly
Universal Synaptics and Lockheed Martin partner to solve United States Department of Defense Intermittent Fault Anomalies in multi-domain platform electronics and wiring harnesses to achieve Mission Capable 80% - Busted Myths – Intermittent Fault Detection
Single circuit scanning test equipment is incapable of detecting and isolating intermittent faults that cause No Fault Found (NFF). Universal Synaptics’ patented Intermittent Fault Detection (IFD) technology detects and isolates intermittent faults in compliance with DoD MIL-PRF-32516 - Universal Synaptics (IFDIS)
The Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System (IFDIS) is an advanced diagnostic tool that detects and isolates intermittent faults in wiring that cause No Fault Found (NFF) by monitoring every circuit under test simultaneously and continuously in compliance with MIL-PRF-32516 - Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System (IFDIS)
