 Derco Aerospace to Distribute Intermittent

Fault Detection (IFD) Systems Manufactured by Universal Synaptics

Ogden, Utah. August 27, 2010 – Universal Synaptics Corp. announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with Derco Aerospace, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services Company, to distribute its line of Intermittent Fault Detection (IFD) test solutions that identify intermittent faults in complex Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and aircraft wiring.  Sikorsky Aerospace Services is the worldwide aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Derco will offer worldwide distribution of Universal Synaptics’ IFD systems and provide related repair services at a fraction of replacement cost for faulty aircraft electrical components.  Traditionally, aircraft maintainers have scrapped electrical components where the source of intermittent faults could not be identified. Initially available for the F-16 Modular Low Power Radio Frequency (MLPRF) and Low Power Radio Frequency (LPRF) Radar boxes, IFD systems provide the capability to test for intermittence in electrical components in aircraft. This distribution agreement will offer Derco customers a savings in both time and money.

“Derco Aerospace has provided aircraft spares, reliable repair, and military fleet sustaining solutions for 30 years” said W. David Chambers, Universal Synaptics Corp., President and CEO. “Derco is an obvious match to distribute our Intermittent Fault Detection (IFD) family of products, and we are pleased to be a part of Derco’s continued commitment to reducing life cycle costs, improving readiness and reducing the logistics footprint.”

Since 1996, Universal Synaptics Corporation, based in Ogden, UT., has been an industry leader in detecting and isolating elusive intermittent faults, and spent years in the "trenches" researching and solving complex diagnostic and testing problems. Their research into the primary root causes of intermittent / No Fault Found (NFF) problems and the massive digital testing void that exists today with conventional scanning test equipment, led to the development of the patented Intermittent Fault Detector (IFD), hardware neural network and all-lines-all-the-time wiring / circuit analyzer test solutions.  For more information, please contact Ken Anderson (801) 731-8508.
